PROCEEDINGS
ICAD 2001 will be held on 29th of July-1st of August 2001 at Helsinki University of Technology. This leading technical university in Finland is located in the city of Espoo, 10 kilometres west of downtown Helsinki (Capital of Finland).
Conference site, the HUT campus in Otaniemi, Espoo
The conference is organized in joint operation of the Laboratory of Acoustics and Audio Signal
Processing and the Telecommunications Software
and Multimedia Laboratory.
Conference venue
The conference will be located at the Computer Science
Building of the university, providing good connections to the
Internet, E-mail and ftp connections to all participants. The largest
lecture hall (up to 270 people) has built in computer and data
projector systems and a multinorm video system. A DVD and multichannel
audio equipment will also be available. Smaller rooms will be also
available for the demos and tutorials. Special facilities (EVE,
high-quality listening room, anechoic chambers) can be used for
special demonstrations.

Social programme
Sunday July 29 Get-Together Party
All participants are invited to participate in the informal
Get-Together Party on Sunday evening at 18.00 . The party will take
place at the campus area of Helsinki University of Technology. The
venue is called Rantasauna and a sauna will be hot and
available. Included in the registration fee.
Monday July 30 Conference Banquet
A special Symposium banquet will be arranged at the restaurant
Kulosaaren Casino. Boat transfer is arranged from Otaniemi Hotel
Rivoli dock at 18.00. Bus transfer back to the hotels after the
Banquet. Price is included in the registration fee.
Tuesday July 31 Trip to Nuuksio
The trip to
Nuuksio National Park includes a guided walk in the middle of a
wild forest. For this walk you need practical shoes, e.g., normal
jogging shoes or hiking shoes. After the walk we will spend a
traditional finnish evening in middle of wilderness. The trip is
included in the registration fee.
